In 2002 the Washington, D.C. Chapter joined the International in hosting the four-day annual event.

Beginning in 2003 under C. Ray Flynn's leadership the Chapter held three well attended events in 2004, and continues to host at least two cocktail parties and dinners each year.

In the decade since its founding, the Washington, D.C. Chapter has grown to more than 60 members with eight of the initial members still in the Chapter.

In October 2009, Robert Pullen, one of the original Washington, D.C. Chapter Members, assumed the leadership of the Chapter upon the resignation of C. Ray Flynn. In May 2013, Robert Jamroz assumed the leadership of the Chapter upon the resignation of Robert Pullen.
